Ernest J. Mejstrik of Madison, formerly of Columbus, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Countryside Home in Madison.
Ernest Joseph Mejstrik was born October 7, 1914 in Colfax County to Louis and Mary (Sindelar) Mejstrik. He was raised in Colfax County where he attended schools. On April 22, 1940 he was united in marriage to Agnes Evert. Ernie was a farmer in Colfax County and moved to a farm in Platte County in 1949. He retired in 1980 to Columbus. Ernie was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Ernie did a lot of woodworking and restoration. He loved to play the accordion and would frequently entertain the residents at the Countryside Home in Madison where he resided since 2009.

Son Norman (Carolyn) Mejstrik of Oklahoma City, OK
Daughter Jeanette (Larry) Frauendorfer of Humphrey, NE
Son Tom (Joan) Mejstrik of Lindsay, NE
