Erma Boro, 89, of Columbus died Friday, March 9, 2018 at Columbus Care and Rehabilitation.
Erma Boro was born September 12, 1928 in Columbus to Fred and Christina (Jaax) Henggeler. She grew up on a farm by Lonestar in Polk County where she attended District 16 grade school and graduated from Kramer High School in 1946. On February 9, 1948, Erma was united in marriage to Lawrence Boro. They lived in Omaha for a short time before moving back to Columbus. Erma worked as an accountant for various businesses in Columbus. She co-owned with her husband the Long Branch Bar and the Town Pump. Erma enjoyed embroidery, doing crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, canning, watching the Huskers, and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Briana. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
