Emily Nordmeyer, 80, of Columbus died Sunday, March 27, 2005 at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha. Funeral services are 10:30 am Thursday, March 31 at Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Rev. Michael Klatt and the Rev. Thomas Volker officiating. Visitation is on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home and continues Thursday morning from 9:30 am until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 am Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church. Interment is in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Peace Lutheran Church Sound System Fund.

Emily Nordmeyer was born July 1, 1924 in Garrison, Nebraska to Emil and Anna (Hladky) Sloup. She grew up in Garrison and graduated from David City High School. On January 6, 1945, Emily was united in marriage to Robert Nordmeyer in Papillion. She returned to school at UNL where she recieved her teaching certificate. She taught in a country school around Garrison for a few years before raising the family on the farm outside of Rising City. She moved to Columbus in 1990. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus, the Ladies Aid Society, Missionary Society, and loved to play bridge.
