Elon Brewer

Elon W. Brewer, age 85, of Columbus died Monday April 9, 2001 at the Edgewood Vista in Columbus. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Visitation is Tuesday April 10, 2001 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Burial will be at the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.

Elon W. Brewer was born November 21, 1915 in Spalding, Nebraska to Daniel and Bessie (Wanker) Brewer. On July 16, 1938 he was united in marriage to Erma Rae Crowe in Schuyler, Nebraska. Elon served in the U.S. Army during World War II from August 1945 to September 1946. The couple lived in Columbus where he worked for Beatrice Foods, Henke Manufacturing, and also owned and operated Elon's Drive Inn. Elon enjoyed collecting small gas engines and was a member of the Antique Tractor and Small Gas Engine Club.
