Elly Schmidt

Elly Schmidt age, 103, of Columbus died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Morys Haven in Columbus.

Elly was born September 20, 1910 in Switzerland toTheodore and Elisa Glauser. She immigrated from Switzerland when she was 16 years old. To help her family she worked as a servant to families in the Columbus area. She was married to Walter Edward Schmidt, who precedes her in death. Elly was a long time blood donor to the American Red Cross program. She volunteered many years in the Columbus Community Hospital as an assistant to families waiting for a family member in surgery. She worked many years in the hospital gift shop. Most of all, she served her church family, St. Lukes United Church of Christ in many capacities. Her grandchildren loved it best when she worked in the Dixie Cream Donut Shop. She allowed them to frost cupcakes, and of course have a snack.

4 great grandchildren: Joshua Lee, Amy Lee, Max Schmidt, Samantha Schmidt
