Elizabeth "Betty" Holley, age 68, of Columbus died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at her home in Columbus.
Elizabeth "Betty" Holley was born December 9, 1941 in Columbus, Nebraska to Lawrence and Agnes (Schmitz) Dreifurst. She grew up in Lindsay and later moved to Columbus with her family. She graduated from Kramer High in 1959. She married Dale Holley on September 3, 1966 in Grand Island. Betty worked at Becton Dickinson for several years. She was the personnel manager at Alco Discount Stores. Betty also worked as an insurance agent. Betty found her true calling in her life as a home health care provider for the elderly. She owned and operated Helping Hand Home Care. She loved her clients, who became her friends. Betty enjoyed camping, working in her flower garden, playing bingo and watching her grandchildren's sporting events. Betty was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. She was an avid sponsor of Feed the Children Program and sponsored two children for several years. Betty was a wonderful wife, loving mother and very special grandmother. She was her sibling's best friend.
