Elizabeth "Betty" Bogus died Saturday, September 15, 2018 at UNMC in Omaha.

Elizabeth Betty Bogus was born November 20, 1930 in Platte Center to John and Balbina (Koziol) Matya. She grew up in Platte Center where she received her education. She married Carroll Bogus on August 27, 1948 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They moved to Columbus where Betty worked for Scotts Dime Store. She later managed the Woolworth Store lunch counter for many years. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, lifetime member of the V.F.W Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing pickle cards, embroidering tea towels and participating in family activities.

Betty is survived by:
Daughter: Carole (Keith) Willis of O'Neill, NE
Daughter: Sandy (Chuck) Kiess of Portland, TX
9 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren
Sister: Alice Jarecki of Platte Center, NE
Sister: Florence (Herman) Carlson of Fromberg, MT

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Carroll, brothers: Frank, Ed and Johnny Matya; sisters: Dorothy Souillere, Mary Legenza, Sally Siebler, and Annie Anderson
