Elida "Jela" Mireles, age 72, of Columbus,formerly of Hollis, Oklahoma died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.
Helen was born December 19, 1943 in Live Oak, Texas to Bartolo and Paula (Montalvo) Herrera. She grew up in south Texas. She married Juan Mireles on December 9, 1963. She worked with her husband in the fields. Following his death on January 18, 1989, she worked in housekeeping. In 1999 she moved to Columbus where she lived with her daughters.

Daughter: Pie (Leon Pittman) Mireles-Pittman of Columbus, NE
Daughter: Mona Mireles of Columbus, NE
Nine Grandchildren: Nicholas, Juan, Crece, Cristian, Ethan, Arely, Elliot, Julian, Estrella
Brother: Smiley Herrera of Hollis, OK
