Eleanor Kucera, age 89, of Columbus, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Eleanor was born December 12, 1928 in Geddes, South Dakota to Frank and Stella (Berger) Blaha. She grew up in the Howells area. She worked with her family on the farm. She married Norman Kucera on April 19, 1949 in Tabor, Nebraska. The couple purchased a farm near Howells in 1949, which is still owned by the family. They moved to Columbus in 1969. She worked as a nurses aid at the Columbus Hospital, Hinky Dinky, and Walmart for 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Isidore Church. Eleanor and Norman were very supportive of their sons, and traveled frequently to watch them race cars and play college football. Eleanor adored her sons and grandchildren, and took every opportunity to spend time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Norman, sisters: Henrietta Schueth and Sylvia Bukacek, brothers: Leo and Edward Blaha.
