Elaine Schmid

Elaine Schmid of Columbus died Monday, December 11, 2023 at Emerald Care.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2023 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Thursday. There will be a 6:00 p.m. vigil service all at the church. Interment will be in the All Saints Cemetery.

Elaine was born January 13, 1949 in Genoa, Nebraska to Frank and Della (Volnek) Bosak. She received her education in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School. She worked in the office at Greystone/Superior for 25 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Isidore Church. She enjoyed reading, knitting and attending her grandchildren's events. She also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame Football.

Elaine is survived by her children: Lynette (Chris) Dreifurst, Jamie (Chris) Afrank, David (Rachael) Schmid, grandchildren: Alexis (Tyler) Reed, Joslynn Afrank, Marshall (Morgan) Dreifurst, Logan Afrank, Emma Schmid, Franki Schmid, and 4 great grandchildren, twin sister: Eileen Carr and brother: Richard Bosak: brother-in-law Kenneth Osborne, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Frank & Della Bosak, sisters: Sharon Peterson, Barbara Osborne, Diana Bosak, and  1 great grandson: Spencer
