Edward G. Purchal, Sr of Columbus died Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Morys Haven in Columbus.

Edward G. Purchal, Sr was born September 18, 1941 in Platte Center to John and Anne (Greisen) Purchal. He grew up in Platte Center where he attended schools. Ed was united in marriage to Karen Srb on May 25, 1963 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. After receiving his education, Ed went to work at VanBerg with his brothers, Matt and Jack. He worked there for several years before going to work at Columbus Grain, A Glenn Kluck Feedlot, and worked as an independent contractor. Ed loved to play cards, put puzzles together, and going to the horse races. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.
