Edward "Ed" Slusarski, age 89 passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Cottonwood House in Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan. There will be a 7:00 p.m. vigil service Monday at the church. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday and will continue Tuesday morning 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Following the Funeral Mass, interment will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Duncan, NE.
Ed was born to John and Mary (Maslonka) Slusarski on June 7, 1930 in Duncan. He attended St. Stanislaus Grade School and Duncan High School. Ed farmed near Duncan for many years and had worked at Sokol's Irrigation Company in Columbus, as well as, grinding feed for many farmers. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, good polka music and taking care of his pet dogs. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church.
He is survived by brothers Marion Slusarski and Francis (Donna) Slusarski of Columbus; John (Sandy) Stevens of Elmhurst, IL; a sister, Sister Roseria of Colorado Springs, CO; sister-in-law: Minnie Slusarski of Denver, CO, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews and Millie.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ted, Rudy and Lonnie Slusarski; sisters Emilia Micek, Cecelia Slusarski and Stephanie Small; brothers-in-law Alphons Micek and Leonard Small; sisters-in-law Marcella, Irene, Marjorie and Tessie Slusarski; nephews Michael Small, Donald Slusarski and Raphael Micek; nieces Jean Wilson and Janice Hueschen; great niece Rachel Micek and great nephew Kent Hueschen; and great great nephew Archie Small.
Memorials may be made for Masses, wishes of the family, or to St. Stanislaus Church.
