Edward Kudron, age 90 of Columbus died Sunday; June 15, 2003 at Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday; June 19, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation will be Wednesday 3-5 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home and after 6:00 p.m. at the church. A vigil will be held Wednesday evening 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will continue Thursday morning 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Edward V. Kudron was born August 4, 1912 in Fullerton to Michael & Josephine (Micek) Kudron. He grew up and attended schools in Fullerton. He married Barbara Boro on Nov. 30, 1935 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Ed served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 until 1945. He and his brothers went to Alaska where he worked on the Alcan Highway before coming back to Columbus. In 1946 Ed started his own construction business, Kudron Excavating. He worked on various town projects including St. Anthony School, St. Isidore Church, the renovation at St. Bonaventure School, moving the historical train to Pawnee Park, along with numerous others. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wildlife, and was an avid bowler. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, and the Eagles.
