Edward Gronenthal

Edward Gronenthal, age 89, of Platte Center, Nebraska died Sunday, October 2, 2005 at the Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center with Reverend Rod Kneifl officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. A Vigil Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday also at the Church. Burial is in the Ss Patrick/Joseph Cemetery rural Platte Center.

Edward J. Gronenthal was born March 6, 1916 in Platte Center to John and Emma (Schroeder) Gronenthal. He attended St. Anthony School in rural Platte Center and Platte Center High School. He married Geraldine Weber on November 5, 1944 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center. He farmed in the Platte Center area until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and played the drums in area bands.
