Edna Macon, 83, of Columbus died Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Columbus Community Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 pm Monday, April 7, 2003 at the Federated Church in Columbus.
Edna Macon was born October 11, 1919 in East Chicago, Indiana to Albert & Elizabeth Fisher. She attended nurses training at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois and married John Vannort Shackelford in Hammond, Indiana on April 25, 1942. She was a long time resident of Los Altos California where she worked for the Palo Alto Medical Clinic, before retiring to Tucson, Arizona. While living in Columbus, she attended the Federated Church. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed cooking, Bridge and charitable works in her later years.
She is survived by daughters Ruth Crawford of Idaho, Peggy Cunha and Laura Shackelford of California, and Reba Sams of Columbus, Nebraska.
