Edna Boettcher-Kingston, age 86 of Columbus, died Tuesday; August 6, 2002 at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services are 9:00 a.m. Saturday; August 10, 2002 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. The Rev. Tom Weisbecker and Rev. Andy Augustyn will officiate. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Home. There will be an all organizations rosary held at 4:00 p.m. and a parish vigil held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, both at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday morning 8:00 - 8:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family.

Edna Boettcher-Kingston was born May 13, 1916 in Tarnov to Andrew and Della (Augustyn) Jaworski. She grew up in Tarnov and attended St. Michael' s School and graduated from St. Francis High School in Humphrey in 1933. She moved to Columbus where she worked at the Platte County Courthouse. Edna married William Boettcher on April 15, 1936 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. After her marriage she was a homemaker. William died in 1986. She later married Ken Kingston on August 11, 1989. She was active with Girl Scouts all of her life and took her troop to two National Jamborees. Edna was the second ever Queen Isabella of Columbus Days. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, organized and was president of the St. Bonaventure Quilting Circle, delivered Meals on Wheels, was a Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer for 27 years, and a member of PEO. She loved gardening and traveling the world. Edna was also a photography enthusiast and painter belonging to the Art Club and the Camera Club.
