E. Donald "Don" Spaulding, age 66, of Columbus, formerly of North Platte died at his home in Columbus on November 6, 2006. Private services will be held.
Don, the oldest of four children was born March 5, 1940 in Washington, D.C. to Ernest D. and Evelyn L. (Weyeneth) Spaulding.
On December 29th, 1962, he married Janet Sue Taylor in Silver Springs, MD. Janet and Don have three children: Donald, Douglas and Stephanie. They have four grandchildren.
Don Devoted more than 30 years of his life to teaching. He loved the outdoors and his Labrador retrievers. He was an active member of the Platte River and Elkhorn Valley Hunting Retrievers Club (HRC) and was a respected Hunt Test Judge.
Don is survived by: his wife Janet of Columbus, NE; mother: Evelyn of Ferguson, MO; son: Donald B. and wife Nadean L. (Daigger) Spaulding of Roca, NE; son: Douglas D. Spaulding of Lincoln, NE; daughter: Stephanie S. and husband Wayne D. Gauger of Lees Summit, MO; brother: B. Dean Spaulding and wife Margaret of Hollister, MO; brother: R. Dale Spaulding and wife Linda of St. Cahrles, MO; sister: Donna M. Nelson and husband Kevin of St. Peters, MO; grandchildren: Mathew, Elizabeth and Emily Spaulding of Roca, NE and Sarah Gauger of Lees Summit, MO.
He was preceded in death by his father: Ernest.
