Dwayne L."Shorty" Drum, age 78, of Columbus died Saturday at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Dwayne L. Drum was born October 13, 1931 in Oconee, Nebraska to Neal and Anna (Kuck) Drum Sr. He received his education at Kramer High and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School. He served in the United States Army. On April 11, 1953 he married Adeline "Addie" Wozny at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad, sold Knight of Columbus Insurance, managed the K.C. Hall and served as a rural mail carrier in Columbus and Schuyler until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and Knights of Columbus #938 Council for over 50 years. Dwayne was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He served in several positions including Grand Knight, District Deputy and Nebraska State Delegate. He was a member of the American Legion and Ducks Unlimited. Dwayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and was an avid sports fan. Drumy will be missed by all.
