Dwaine Arthur Dunn age 82, passed away on April 24th, 2025 at the Norfolk Veteran Home.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in rural Bellwood. Visitation is Wednesday 5-7 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home. Military honors will be follow the funeral service by The American Legion Honor Guard Hartman Post #84.

Dwaine was born on November 30th, 1942 in Randolph, Nebraska to Arthur and Olivia Dunn. He attended Saint Francis de Chantal Catholic school through 11th grade.
Dwaine enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1960. He completed basic training in San Diego, California. He served four years with posts in Kodiak, Alaska and Barstow, California. In 1964, he was honorably discharged from the Marines.
In 1986, Dwaine continued his military career with the National Guard. Dwaine's son, Tom, who was also in the National Guard, were able to serve together between 1988 to 2002.
Dwaine met his wife, Beatrice Esquibel in Barstow, California in 1964. They married soon after on December 28th, 1964 in La Joya, New Mexico. Dwaine and Bea moved to Columbus, Nebraska for a few years before moving to their lifelong residence in Bellwood, Nebraska.
Dwaine held several jobs before finding his passion in truck driving. He spent the majority of his career doing what he loved.
Dwaine was very mechanically inclined. He greatly enjoyed figuring out the mechanics of how something would operate and rebuilding it to make it better. A self-made machinist, he often made parts to fix motorcycles, cars, trucks, and guns. He was always very self-sufficient. Dwaine worked on gas engines but anyone that knew him knew his true love was diesel engines. He had a huge heart for all animals. He loved his cats, dogs, and any other small, furry critters. Dwaine is remembered for his humor, love of storytelling, music, and reading.
He is survived by his wife Beatrice Dunn and his two children Tomas (Tammy) Dunn and Anita (Lee) Wisecup. Grandchildren- Samantha Dunn, Samantha Joe (A.J.) Speicher, Robbie (Ashley) Rhea, Paul Rhea , Tyler (Sarah) Wisecup, Trent Wisecup, and Travis Wisecup. Siblings: John Dunn, Judy Tate and Rita Soulliere.
