Duane P. Cermak of Platte Center died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Countryside Home in Madison.

Duane Cermak was born August 31, 1935 to Theodore and Marie (Peters) Cermak in Brainard, Nebraska.
He received his education in David City at St. Mary's School and graduated from David City High school in 1953. He served in the United States Air Force from January 4, 1954 until December 6, 1957. Duane married Donna Helgoth on April 26, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City, Nebraska. Duane worked as a machinist at Columbus Hydraulics. He was a member of Lions Club, Platte Center Volunteer Fire Department and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling and gardening.

Grandson: Garrett Kaplan Omaha, NE
Grandson: Logan Kaplan Omaha, NE

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter.
