Douglas "Doc" Scott, age 71 of Columbus, died Thursday, December 3, 2020 at UNMC, Omaha.

A Private family Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the McKown Funeral Home, with Military Honors by Hartman Post
#84, American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation will be Monday December 7, 2020, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the McKown Funeral Home.

Masks and social distancing are required while attending the Visitation.

Douglas "Doc" Scott was born June 27, 1949 in Medford, Massachusetts to Bob & Carolyn (Downing) Scott. He grew up in Massachusetts. Where he graduated from High School. He served in the United States Air Force and served in Viet Nam. He was later stationed in California and Offutt AFB. Upon his discharge he moved to Columbus where he worked at TORIN and the Columbus Manor until his retirement. He married Gayle Scheffler in June 2000. Doc volunteered with the Special Olympics and the Mystery Manor. He enjoyed crafts, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Daivin Byrd
