Dorothy Kathryn Weber, age 81, of Monroe, Nebraska died Friday October 31, 2002 at the Genoa Long Term Care in Genoa, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday November 4, 2002 at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Reverend Bev Minor officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and 9:00 a.m. - service time Monday at the church.
Dorothy Kathryn Weber was born February 9, 1921 near Platte Center, Nebraska to Stanley and Edith (Nansel) Hughes. She attended rural Postville School and graduated from Kramer High School in 1938. Dorothy married John Edward Weber on October 12, 1940 in Monroe. The couple lived in Monroe where Dorothy worked at the Post Office for 6 years and cooked for the Monroe Public School for 18 years. She would also help her husband at the Monroe Farm Supply.
Dorothy was a member of the United Methodist Church, Aid Mission Circle, sang in the church choir, Cub Scout Leader, and the Lions Club. She loved sewing, crafts, and crocheting.
