Dorothy M. Schneider, age 88, of David City, formerly of Columbus, died Monday, July 19, 2010 at the St. Joseph Villa in David City.
Dorothy M. Schneider was born September 16, 1921 in Avoca, Iowa to George and Hertha (Bornholdt) Lippold. She married Anton "Tony" Schneider on June 28, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska. She and her husband Tony owned and operated the "Y" Motel in York and the Lark Bar in Columbus before moving to Lincoln. Following their retirement they moved back to the Columbus area.
Dorothy grew up on an Iowa farm and always had a story to share about her childhood. She loved her family, loved our Country, and honored each President. She was an avid reader, loved to "porch sit", was a great neighbor, loved full skirts and high heels. Her direct, straight forward style often broke out in song, loud and low in "that Lippold" voice. We know she is singing with her husband Tony, John and Joe now.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in Columbus or St. Joseph Villa in David City.
