Dorothy M. &Quot;Dort&Quot; Simpson

Dorothy died Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Dorothy M. "Dort" Simpson was born December 28, 1922 in Stella, Nebraska to William D. and Sadie (Pugh) Allgood. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1940. On November 21, 1942 Dorothy was united in marriage to William R. Simpson in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple lived in Omaha, Columbus & Albuquerque, New Mexico before returning to Columbus in 1958. Dort was a homemaker and did volunteer work for the Red Cross and the United Way. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, bingo and going to the horse races and casinos. Dort was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and the Daughter's of the Nile. A special thank you from the family to Sandy Knox, Janet Liss, Eve Lusche and Mary Ann Lehr for all their help with mom.
