Dorothy Murphy of Columbus died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at her home in Columbus.
Dorothy D. Murphy was born February 11, 1923 in Columbus, Nebraska to Albert and Victoria (Sutko) Staroscik. She graduated from Kramer High School in 1941. Dorothy married John "Jack" Murphy on October 23rd, 1946 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. She and her husband moved to California where they lived for over 40 years. They returned to Columbus to retire in 1988. While in California she worked for General Foods in Hollywood and on moving to Glendora, California she worked as Parish Secretary at St. Dorothys Catholic Church for 13 years. Before retiring she was a Bridal Consultant in Pomona, California.
Dorothy was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, Catholic Daughters Court of Little Flower 988, Legion of Mary Auxiliary, St. Bonaventure Guild, Eagles Auxiliary, Columbus Hospital Auxiliary, member and patron of Friends of Music. She enjoyed being a homemaker, traveling, photography and music.
