Dorothy "Dottie" A. Krzycki, age 81 of Columbus died Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Dottie was born on January 30th, 1930 to Alex and Anna (Cyza) Drozd near Monroe. She grew up on a farm there, graduated from Genoa High School and went on to attend Business College in Omaha. She married Ted L. Krzycki on August 22, 1950 at St. Rose of Lima Chuch in Genoa. She worked as a waitress and bartender at Dreisbach's in Grand Island, Keene Korner, Louie's, and Husker Steak House in Columbus. She and Ted also owned the Avenue Bar in Humphrey for a short time. Dottie had a career in real estate from 1978 until the present and won many awards for her diligent efforts selling hundreds of homes & properties in the Columbus area. She enjoyed traveling, from statewide to worldwide, fishing, camping, and playing cards, all with her family and friends. Dottie was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Theresa Sodality, Columbus, Nebraska & National Board of Realtors, Columbus Eagles Club and Red Hat Society. She will be remembered for her enthusiasm for life and her generous spirit.
Dottie is survived by her five sons, Michael (Norma) of Columbus; Daniel (Denise Smith) of Lincoln; Chris (Sally Lesiak)of Columbus; Ted of Columbus; Rock (Kendall) of Lincoln, 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Emil (Theresa) of Genoa; sister, Annette (Ron) Chalifour of Nashville, Tennessee; sister-in-law Lillian Krzycki of Columbus; and sister-in-law Alyce (Ray) Eriksen of Genoa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Edward and Ray, and sisters, Mary Ann Drozd and Lillian Carr.
