Dorothy Jeffryes

Dorothy Jeffryes, 48, of Columbus died Monday March 5, 2001 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Funeral services are 10:00 am Thursday, March 8 at the First Baptist Church in Columbus with Rev. Denison Conner officiating. Visitation is Wednesday from 5-9 pm at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Thursday at the church from 9 am until service time. The burial will be at 1:00 pm Thursday at Palestine Baptist Cemetery in rural Genoa.

Dorothy was born August 7, 1952 in Front Royal, Virginia to Hugh Robert "Sugar" & Mabel (Jenkins) Deal.
She received her education at Ann Arundle High School in Maryland. She married Danny Jeffryes at the Severn Baptist Church in Severn, Maryland. Following her marriage she moved to the Columbus, Nebraska area. They lived a short time in Oklahoma and Colorado before returning to Columbus where they have lived since. Dorothy owned and operated Jeffryes Day Care for over 20 years. She enjoyed ceramics, crafts and cross stitching. She enjoyed spending time with her family at the cabin and watching their bowling events.
