Donald "Don" Wurdeman age 81, formerly of Columbus, died Friday, May 10, 2024 in Omaha.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May, 16, 2024 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation is Wednesday 5-7 p.m. There will be a 7:00 p.m. vigil service all at the McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Thursday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Military honors will; be conducted by the American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard. Interment will be in the Omaha National Cemetery.
In lieu of plants and flowers memorials are suggested to be designated later.
Donald Wurdeman, the son of Edwin and Delores (Heitz) Wurdeman was born August 4, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska. He grew up in Leigh, Nebraska where he graduated from High School in 1962. He served in the United States Army from 1964-1966. He was stationed at Ft. Lewis in Washington State. Don was married to Annette Hoppes in Fremont on June 23, 1973. He lived in Columbus, Leigh and most recently Ft. Calhoun. Don owned his own auto body repair shop in Leigh before joining Ernst Auto where he worked until his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards, NASCAR, fishing and antique cars.
Don is survived by his children: Marty (Stephanie) Wurdeman, Mike (Regina) Wurdeman, Melissa (Ryan) Wragge
6 grandchildren: Sydney, Sophie, Connor, Josh (Lauren), Meredith, Catherine
1 great granddaughter: Jocelyn
siblings: Paula (Tom) Tichota and Fritz Asche.
