Donald Spale

Donald Spale, age 83, died Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Columbus Care and Rehab Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus.  Visitation is 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with an 8:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue Wednesday morning from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at St. Isidore Church.  Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus.

Donald J. Spale was born September 20, 1935 in Colfax County, Nebraska to Joseph and Bridget (Tajchman) Spale. He attended school in Schuyler. On October 24, 1964 Don was united in marriage to Mary Simonsen in Shelby, Nebraska.  They lived in Columbus where Don worked at Higgin's Mill and DX gas station in Schuyler.  He later worked at the Elk's Country Club and Duster's Restaurant in Columbus. Don enjoyed polka music, dancing and most of all spending time with family.  He was a faithful member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.

Sister: Pat Svoboda of Ashland, NE
Brother: Terry (Sherri) Spale of Schuyler, NE
Brother: Fred (Pam) Spale of Fremont, NE
