Donald &Quot;Duke&Quot; Jacobsen

Donald L. "Duke" Jacobsen, age 71, of Silver Creek, Nebraska died Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Litzenberg Memorial Hospital in Central City, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek with Reverend Bev Hieb officiating. Burial is in the Silver Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday and 12 noon - 2:00 p.m. Saturday all at the Methodist Church.

Donald L. "Duke" Jacobsen was born June 2, 1933 on the family farm near Silver Creek, Nebraska to E. M. and Lillie (Strohbehn) Jacobsen. He graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1950. Don farmed his entire life except for a brief time when he worked construction in Denver, Colorado. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Silver Creek. Don was an avid hunter and a life long Husker fan. He enjoyed morning coffee in Silver Creek, playing cards on Saturday night and spending Sunday nights with family and friends.
