Donald Hoffman

Donald Hoffman, age 86, of Columbus, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home in Columbus.

Don was born January 22, 1932 near Laurel, Nebraska to Arlie & Elizabeth (Pochop) Hoffman. He grew up in the Plainview area where he graduated from high school. He attended Norfolk Jr. College where he played football. Don served in the United States Army from 1953-1955, stationed in Korea. He completed his degree at Morningside College in Sioux City. Don married Rose Marie Rossmar on August 18, 1956 in Sioux City. They moved to Columbus in September 1966. Don worked for many years as a cattle buyer. Don was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, Perpetual Adoration and the Knights of Columbus #938. He enjoyed golf, shooting sports, gardening and attending his grandchildren's events.

6 grandchildren: Mitchell, Jonathan, Pauline, Ashley, McKayla, Kate
sister: Carrolyn (Keith) Schorling of California
brother-in-law : Richard Rossmar of Arizona

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Colleen Schuett.
