Donald died Friday, August 27, 2010 at his home in Columbus.

Donald M. Cook was born September 1, 1933 in Fremont, Nebraska to Donald C. and Rosetta (Dryden) Cook. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Korea from January 1951 - August 1954. On November 3, 1956 Don was united in marriage to Janice Wilson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. He worked at Hormel in Fremont from 1956 - 1963. Don then farmed at Palmer, Nebraska until 1976 when he moved to Columbus. He worked at Lindsay Manufacturing from 1976 until retiring in 1999. Following his retirement Don enjoyed camping, gardening, traveling, watching football and woodworking. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and was an avid Husker fan, golfer, bowler, hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by:

Son: Donald M. (Cheryll) Cook, Jr. of Schuyler, NE
Brother: Jerry (Sandra) Cook of Myrtle Beach, SC
Sister: Dianne (Homer) Mason of Yakima, WA
Granddaughter: Shannon (Pat) Powers
Granddaughter: Brandi (Andy) Fehringer
Grandson: Donald M. (Kim) Cook III
Seven Great Grandchildren
One Step-Great Grandaughter

He was preceded in death by:

Mother: Rosetta Cook
Sister: Charlene Gepford
