Mr. Donald "Don" John Bierman died peacefully at Golden Living Center on April 18, 2015 in Columbus, NE at the age of 63.
Don is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Derek (Danessa) Bierman grandchildren Beau, Aidan, Jaxson, Bella of Norfolk, NE; son, Caleb (Sarah) Bierman grandchildren Bryce & Kiley of Pierce, NE; daughter, Tori (Nathan) Oehlrich grandchildren JR & Kipton of Richland, NE, and step-daughter, Tammi Sellers of Omaha, NE. Don is also survived by his brother, Bob (Bonnie) Bierman of Columbus; brother, Tom (special friend, Janet) Bierman of Columbus; and sister, Bonnie (Jay) Torczon of Columbus, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Mary (Ruzicka) Bierman, an infant brother, and an infant son.
Don was born on October 29th, 1951 in Columbus, NE to Willard and Mary (Ruzicka) Bierman. He attended St. Bonaventure School and graduated from Scotus Central Catholic High School in Columbus, NE. As a young adult, he liked to play cards and participate in bowling & pool leagues. Don worked in the grocery store business for 35 years.
He was the manager for several different grocery companies, including stores in Sioux Falls, Omaha, Gretna, Norwalk (Iowa), Schuyler, Columbus, Lincoln, Norfolk, and Bellevue. Don had a very strong work ethic, would give anyone the benefit of the doubt, and always offered a smiling face and contagious laugh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be designated to the familys preference. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation for all of the wonderful care provided Dr. Kambhu at Nebraska Medicine, the staff of Golden Living Center in Columbus, and the staff of AseraCare Hospice.
