Donald Adkisson of Columbus died Friday, May 11, 2018 at Columbus Community Hospital surrounded by his family.
Donald Dwayne Adkisson was born June 13, 1933 in Platte County to Oscar and Laura (Leimser) Adkisson. He grew up in Platte County and graduated from Kramer High in 1952. Don entered the US Navy and served during the Korean War. On August 30, 1956 he was united in marriage to Lavina Zoucha at St. Joseph Church in Platte Center. Don worked for the Columbus Fire Department and installed many fences throughout the area. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church where he served as an usher for over 50 years. Don was a member of the American Legion, Eagles Club, the Knights of Columbus, and was a lifetime member and past commander of the VFW.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Richard, Gene, Ken, and Danny
