Don Beerbohm, age 71, of Columbus died Thursday at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.
Don L. Beerbohm was born August 24, 1938 in Wisner, Nebraska to Lester and Laura (Schmidt) Beerbohm. He graduated from Beemer High School in 1956. Don married Celine Ortmeier on October 18, 1958 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer. They moved to Columbus in 1958.Along with working Don attended classes at Platte Community College and graduated in 1975. Don worked for Becton-Dickinson for 21 years until 1979. Don was one of the original partners in Westbrook Lanes which he co-managed for several years. He later worked for Moorman Mfg., Rainsoft Water Systems and most recently at HyVee. He was a founding member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Don was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council #12086 and a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He was active in RCIA, CEC and served as an EME. Don also voluteered at many church and K.C. activities. Don enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, hunting and was a longtime, avid Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed watching and participating in his grandchildren's activities.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Stained Glass Fund at St. Isidore Church.
