Dominic Geilenkirchen

Dominic J. Geilenkirchen, age 90, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday October 3, 2001 at his home. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday October 6, 2001 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Fr. Tom Weisbecker officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery in Humphrey, Nebraska. Visitation is after 4:00 p.m. Friday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00a.m. also at McKown Funeral Home.

Dominic Joseph Geilenkirchen was born October 23, 1910 in Lindsay, Nebraska to Gerhard and Sophia (Roufs) Geilenkirchen. He attended school in Lindsay. On May 2, 1939 Dominic was united in marriage to Rose Hastreiter at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. The couple lived and farmed north of Lindsay until retiring and moving to Madison in 1968. They resided in Madison until moving to Columbus, Nebraska in 1979. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus.
