Dolores Bernt of Columbus, NE died June 30, 2026, after a two and a half year battle with cancer. 

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Visitation is Monday 4:00-6:00 p.m., followed by a 6:00 p.m. Vigil service, at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment is in Ss. Patrick/Joseph Cemetery in rural Platte Center.

Dolores (Dee) Bernt was born November 23, 1946, at St. Mary's Hospital in Columbus to Paul and Helen (Shotkoski) Jazwick. She grew up in Platte Center, where she attended elementary school at St. Joseph's Parochial School and graduated from Platte Center High School.

Dee was adored by everyone she knew. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was much loved by her son, Ryan, daughter in law, Heather, grandsons Taylor and Easton, and granddaughter in law Ellie. She enjoyed visiting whether it was to rescue her family with emergency babysitting or to simply spend the day having lunch, shopping, and enjoying a family walk or game. Her unconditional love, humor, generosity, and desire to see everyone happy will be greatly missed.

Dee worked at Dale Electronics (Vishay) for 45+ years. She was a faithful member of St. Bonaventure's Parish in Columbus, NE, where she volunteered. Most of all, Dee enjoyed spending time with family and friends and attending special moments in their lives.
