Denny Bargen, 70, of Columbus died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at his home.
Denny was born on July 23, 1943 in Superior, NE to Orval and Florence Bargen. He grew up in Hardy, Ne and graduated from Hardy High School. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln were he completed his Bachelors Degree, as well as his Post-Graduate Masters Degree in Educational Administration.
Following graduation he had a successful 10 year career as high school basketball coach and teacher. On August 9, 1969 he was united in marriage to Jody Krueger in Sidney, Nebraska. He coached and taught at Sidney St Patricks for 2 years, Milford 5 years, Columbus High School 3 years. Denny was a Life and Qualifying member of Million-Dollar Round Table. He was involved in The National Association of Insurance and Investment Advisors on a local, state, and national level, particularly in the areas of Community Service.
He was active in his church as Lector, EMHC, CEC and Parish Council, a Board of Director on the Nebraska Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a volunteer fund raiser for the Cystic Fibrosis. He was active in coaching boys youth club basketball teams, YMCA, AAU, since leaving the coaching profession in 1976.
He started his own business, Financial Design in 1983, where he was active until his death.
