Dennis Nagengast

Dennis Nagengast, age 83, of Columbus, died Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Dennis was born March 11, 1932 in Sidney, Nebraska to Rudy and Rose (Karel) Nagengast. In 1943 he and his siblings moved to St. Thomas Orphanage in Lincoln. At the age of 16 he moved to Nelson where he graduated high school. He attended Hastings College before joining the Army during the Korean War. Following his discharge he worked at various locations before moving to Columbus in 1973 when he became the owner and operator of Columbus Moving and Storage. Dennis married Connie Jansa on November 21, 1981 in Las Vegas. He was a member of the Lion Club since 1973 and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Dennis was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing, especially deep sea fishing.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Connie of Columbus, granddaughter, Katy,2 great grandchildren and sister, Jean Koehler of Fremont along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Arden and his brothers and sisters.
