Dennis J. Duffy, age 76, passed away peacefully Friday, June 8, 2018 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dennis was born January 27, 1942 in Crookston, MN to Bernard and Adeline (Kotschevar) Duffy. He attended grade school and Cathedral High School in Crookston, MN. Dennis then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. It was one of his proudest achievements. After living and working in 15 states for the Federal Power Commission, Dennis settled in Columbus working at R.W. Beck & Associates. He was united in marriage to Barbara (Mausbach) Duffy at St. Bonaventure Church on May 12,1978.
He later left the corporate world to become his own boss as a property owner and manager and as a co-owner of Barbara Jeans Fashions. Being self-employed allowed him to use his time to serve his community, especially as a member of the Columbus City Council and numerous boards and committees. He enjoyed following the stock market, political debates, a fine glass of beer, and a good piece of chocolate cake. He was a life long Minnesota Viking fan.
