Denette Frances Drum, age 74, of Columbus passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on Friday, February 28, 2025 in Omaha.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation is 4:00- 6:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Vigil service Thursday, March 6, 2025 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Burial is in All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
Denette was born on June 15, 1950 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Roy and Mary (Getsfred) Olk. In her youth she lived in Petersburg, Norfolk, Ord and St. Joseph MO before settling in Columbus. After graduating from Scotus Central Catholic in 1968, she completed trade school in Denver Colorado. On November 27, 1970 she was joined in marriage to Greg N. Drum. While raising their children in Columbus, Denette worked tirelessly helping her parents grow their printing business. She later worked for over 30 years in the Central Community College library helping the next generation on their way to a brighter future.
A member of St. Isidore's catholic church, Denette had a knack for finding the best in everyone she met. She was a loving wife, a giving mother and instinctive grandmother. Some of her greatest joy came from her six grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Brother-in-law: John Obrist Sr. of Columbus
Nephew: John (Tara) Obrist Jr. of Columbus
Along with many other nieces, nephews and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Myra Obrist.
