Deloris E. Kocina of Madison, formerly of Platte Center died Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Countryside Home in Madison.
Deloris, the daughter of Carl and Edna (Butterfield) Boelter was born February 21, 1926 on a farm near Walnut, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Venus, NE. She attended rural schools at Walnut and Venus (District 62)before graduating from Verdigre High School in 1943. She worked as a telephone operator in Walnut, Winnetoon, and Fairbury, NE. On February 14, 1950, she married Elmer Kocina. They lived on farms near Winnetoon, NE. In 1970 they moved to Platte Center. Deloris worked at Dale Electronics before retiring in 1988. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and horses.
