Delores Brase, age 97, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center in Osceola.
Delores was born May 5, 1917 at her parents home in Polk County to John and Della (Siedel) Zohner. She grew up in the Shelby and Bellwood areas. She attended country school one mile west of her family home. Delores married Henry Brase on February 7, 1939. The couple lived and farmed near Bellwood before moving to a farm near Shelby. They lived on the farm for 66 years until moving to the Good Samaritan Center in Osceola. Henry and Delores were married for 74 years. During their marriage they were recognized as "World Travelers" by Princess Cruise Lines. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Shelby and St. Anns Guild. Delores loved baking, gardening, having family dinners, working on photo albums and taking care of her flowers. She collected stuffed animals and enjoyed her cats.
