Delmar Leroy Tucker, 74, entered into rest on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at his home in Columbus.
Delmar Leroy Tucker was born on July 10, 1941, in Springfield, Colorado, to Doyle and Evelyn (Osborn) Tucker. He received his education in Springfield and graduated in 1959. He moved to Columbus in 1960. He worked for Walter Gehring laying bricks. Later he started his own business, Tucker Masonry, eventually employing some of his sons. He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed his work. He loved to help family and friends with their building projects.
Delmar married Helen Walker on September 1, 1963 at Bible Baptist Church in Columbus. They had six sons and three daughters.
He was a member of Bible Baptist Church for more than 50 years. He took special interest in helping with the church and school building projects.
Delmar loved trees and flowers and planted many varieties of them around his home. He was gifted in woodwork, carving both marble and wood, along with leather craft. For many years he gave haircuts to his sons, grandsons, and many friends and relatives.
He took great pleasure in his family and loved all of his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is remembered as a generous man who helped those in need and opened his home to many through the years.
