Del Mostek

Del Mostek, age 86, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at his home. Funeral Services 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2006 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend David Fulton officiating. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Monday morning from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial is in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.

Del Mostek was born December 23, 1919 in Loup City, Nebraska to Stanley and Josephine (Tesmer) Mostek. He grew up in Duncan, Nebraska and attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School and Duncan High School. On April 21, 1941 he married Emily Buzynski at St. Anthony Church in Columbus. The couple lived in Omaha, Nebraska where Del worked for Nebraska Feed & Seed Co., Paxton Mitchell Foundry and Boy's Town. In 1952 they moved to Columbus. Del worked for Columbus Plumbing & Heating and then for 31 years at Becton-Dickinson until retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church where he ushered for many years. Del enjoyed Nebraska Football, gardening and repairing various things.
