Dean W. Ott, age 77, of Columbus, Nebraska died Friday, July 22, 2005 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2005 at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with Reverend Tom Volker officiating. Burial is in the Columbus Cemetery with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Monday all at McKown Funeral Home.

Dean W. Ott was born March 17, 1928 in Manning, Iowa to Clarence and Ila Pearl (Smith) Ott. He grew up in Carroll County, Iowa. He married Arlene Wiese on June 18, 1947 in Norfolk, Nebraska. Dean served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from January 1952 - January 1960. While living in Columbus Dean owned Mid-West Glass Co. and also worked for Hoessel Electric and Steinbock Oil (Sapp Brothers). On March 9, 1983 he was united in marriage to Cathy Ciboron in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dean was a member of the Hartman Post #84 American Legion, and was Commander and life member of the V.F.W. #3704. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling.
