Dean Hagelstein, age 91 of Columbus, died Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at his home in Columbus.

Private family services will be held.

Dean Hagelstein was born September 13, 1934 in Randolph, NE to Herman and Verl (Heiderman) Hagelstein. He grew up and graduated from Osmond High School. On October 21 st , 1956, Dean married Lillian Hagelstein at the Osmond Lutheran Church. Dean went on to Milford and became a skilled mechanic, and eventually a welder. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. Dean also worked at Schuyler Packing for many years. He was truly a jack of all trades. He enjoyed fishing, hanging with family- especially his grandchildren.

Grandchildren: Tori Hagelstein, Trent Hagelstein, Brett Hagelstein, Nichole Hajek, and Brittany Hajek

Great grandchildren: Skylar and Braxton Hagelstein, Rylan and Talon Peterson

Great great grandchildren: Barret and Willow Hagelstein
