Dean Joseph Foltz was born on March 8,1948 to Alfred and Luella (Pfeifer) Foltz in Humphrey, NE and passed away September 2, 2025, at the age of 77.
Dean grew up in Columbus where he attended St. Bon's grade school, Columbus Junior and Senior High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on June 6, 1967. He served in the Vietnam War and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant E-6. During Vietnam, he was wounded in combat and received a Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged on June, 18, 1973. He worked as a licensed electrician for Johnson Electric for several years and later went to BD where he retired after working there for 35+ years. On October 23, 1987 he married Judy (Zastera) Pavel. This union was based on family and there was nothing that Dean loved more than his wife, step-kids, and his granddaughters. His two granddaughters had him wrapped around their little fingers, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them. And they loved him just the same. He enjoyed building things, woodworking, collecting coins, and loved Husker football & volleyball! He was a member of Saint Bonaventure and lifetime member of VFW and American Legion.
