Dean Ainsworth, age 67, of Columbus died April 14th, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.
Dean Raymond Ainsworth was born December 17, 1948 to Rodney and Lillian (Jasper) Ainsworth in rural Humphrey Nebraska. Dean was the 5th of 7 children. He received his education from Humphrey High School and married Mary Jean Backes on August 2, 1969. He moved to Columbus with his family in 1978. Dean and Mary were married for 41 years before she lost her battle with cancer on September 1, 2010. Professionally, Dean was an accomplished mechanical engineer. He was employed by Middle State, Buffalo Engineering and Douglas & Lomason of Columbus for most of his career. Professional credits include 2 patents published for Douglas & Lomason. In his personal time, Dean enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, coaching soccer and anything that had to do with his wife, children and grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Survivors include his son, Kevin Ainsworth (Michelle) of Columbus, Ne, daughter, Angie Obst (Steve) of Battle Creek, NE and daughter Judy Eckholt (Mike) of Ponca City, OK and 9 grandchildren. Also included are brothers Jack (Ruth) Ainsworth, Dale Ainsworth and Tim (Janna) Ainsworth and Brother-in-law Jack Purchal, and a sister-in-law Jeri Ainsworth
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Rodney and Lillian Ainsworth, sister Joyce Purchal, and brothers Larry and Jerry Ainsworth.
