David R. Snyder, age 64, of Columbus, Nebraska died Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus with Reverend Bill Ritter officiating. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial is in the Columbus Cemetery.
David R. Snyder was born November 1, 1941 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Morris and Margaret (Neill) Snyder. He graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1959. David served in the U.S. Air Force from March 1960 - January 1964. Following the service he went to work for Lincoln Telephone. On August 26, 1967 he was united in marriage to Margaret Kay Albert in Louisville, Nebraska. In 1970 he graduated from Peru State College and then went to work for GTE. They lived in Albion, Nebraska before moving to Columbus in 1973. David retired from GTE in 1994 and went to work for RVW, Inc. until May of 2000. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a volunteer coach for the Special Olympics. David enjoyed reading, history, traveling, crossword puzzles and spending time with his grandchildren.
